The 95 operates on 36 volts provided by three 12 volt deep cycle batteries. The 95 has a 36 volt D.C. motor that drives a 3 speed Peerless transmission. Consequently, you have 3 distinct ground speeds with no \u201cin between.\u201d \u00a0 The \u201cignition\u201d key energizes a solenoid that starts the electric motor. That solenoid also completes a secondary circuit that keeps the solenoid engaged with the key in the \u201crun\u201d position. When the key is turned to the \u201coff\u201d position, the circuit is broken and the solenoid disengages.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1895\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-schematic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1895\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1895\" src=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-schematic-300x192.jpg\" alt=\"(Click on image for larger view)\" width=\"300\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-schematic-300x192.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-schematic-1024x658.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1895\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Click on image for larger view)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since I didn\u2019t want to invest in 3 batteries until I knew everything worked, I borrowed a booster battery from a buddy to use in conjunction with my booster battery. With only 24 volts, the system was hit and miss. Sometimes it would engage and sometimes it wouldn\u2019t. I later discovered that 24 volts is close to the critical voltage for everything to work. The experiment did give me the confidence to purchase and install the proper batteries. \u00a0 With 36 volts (actually 38.4) everything except the timer on the rapid charging system worked as it should. \u00a0 The timer didn\u2019t move at all. \u00a0 But since the trickle charge worked \u00a0 I was ready to start on the body work.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-23.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1896\" src=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-23-300x139.jpg\" alt=\"Cadet 95 pic 23\" width=\"300\" height=\"139\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-23-300x139.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-23.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While I had the body off, I did take the opportunity to drive the 95. \u00a0 Everything with the exception of the timer seemed to work as it should. But about the third time I went to charge it after driving it around, not only the timer but the whole rapid charge system no longer worked.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-24.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1897\" src=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-24-300x229.jpg\" alt=\"Cadet 95 pic 24\" width=\"300\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-24-300x229.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-24.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using the procedure outlined in the Operator\u2019s Manual, I went through the check procedure and concluded that the capacitor was bad.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-25.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1898\" src=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-25-259x300.jpg\" alt=\"Cadet 95 pic 25\" width=\"259\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-25-259x300.jpg 259w, https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-25.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When I picked up the 95 the area around and below the charger was full of leaves and debris. \u00a0 I\u2019m guessing that allowed the bottom of the capacitor to rust through and destroy its usefulness. I went online and was lucky enough to find a replacement capacitor. I\u2019m guessing it was NOS because the packaging had been around for a while.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-26.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1899\" src=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-26-300x264.jpg\" alt=\"Cadet 95 pic 26\" width=\"300\" height=\"264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-26-300x264.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cubcadetman.com\/cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Cadet-95-pic-26.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I installed the NOS capacitor.\u00a0\u00a0 The timer still didn\u2019t work, but the rapid charging system did.
