This is what Mike originally had to say about his groundsaw.
“The ground saw was originally mounted to a Cub Cadet 100 so I think it is a 1964. It was used to bury phone lines in southwest Minnesota. I bought it from the original owner’s son. Everything works exactly like it should; even no hydraulic leaks. My drive motor is a little bit different than yours. I think my trencher is older than yours. I found the serial number on it as 4–155. I saved the trencher out of a building that was falling in on itself. The guy said it was probably headed for scrap. I just got it running for the first time tonight. It works great. I have not dug any dirt with it yet.”
Here are the original pictures Mike sent me of his groundsaw.
And, in a followup email and pictures after he got it all mounted and ready to display.
“Red Power went great. The ground saw was a hit. I even drove it through the parade. Here are the after pictures I promised. I need to take it out and dig a trench with it sometimes. When I do I will take some video. It looks like it would work good. Thank you for your help with the pictures. Let me know if you need better pictures for your website.”
